Default Keeping Warm

Ok so I am in the phoenix area and on the way to work was about 31 this morning..yea pretty cold. My body and legs stay warm because of all the layers but my hands are going numb. I have gloves but they are part leather/mesh..like myjacket..and neither keep warm. Will a normal pair of leather gloves work or should I look into heated? and if I go heated, is there cheaper than on the hd site?

thanks

Just using leather only gloves will not keep hands warm compared to guntlet style gloves with some type of insulation.Spend the money and buy a good quality pair of gloves.

My hands get cold when nothing else does. I went with leather/heated gaunlet gloves from www.cozywinters.com I don't always need to plug them in. they are a little bulkier than none insulated leather gloves but find them not too bad. Most insulated riding gloves I find to be too bulky and I don't get a good feel for the grips and levers. Gerbings makes the heated gloves for HD, Gerbings offers a lifetime warranty on the heat element and HD offers a 1 year. Both about the same price. Cozy Winters is less cost and a good product with a lifetime element warranty.

Yep i also had the cold hands this morning. I live north of tucson and my thermometer said 19 degrees. I have an 18 mile ride to work so it is bearable but non the less my hands were cold. Ive tried the HD insulated gauntlets and also plain leather gauntlets with wool glove liners from the feed store. Both seem to be about the same. I am experimenting with some leather mittens that i made and used some thinsulate to line them with. My thoughts are that have the fingers isolated in a pair of gloves vs having them all together in a mitten might just keep them warmer. Its a long shot but what the hay....worth a try.

I bought a pair of Thinsulite gauntlets at the Honda store for less than half of the Harley branded ones cost.
