You did the right thing. Keeping the cashier from having to pay (or being disciplined or fired) for an innocent mistake was good of you. You could have ignored it and gotten away with it and chose not to. Good for you.

You get the "Dickey" seal of approval for your actions!

HOWEVER....

$66 BUX FOR FREAKIN' GOGGLES??!! You need serious HELP! What're you;made of money? Seriously, mine cost A BUCK! At the Dollar Store. No way would I pay that kinda cheddar for something that's gonna get scratched, broken, stepped on, or lost within the week. I actually just finished JB Welding my latest broken pair that cost a buck. Here's what you can get for $66:

Dinner for 2 at Carabba's
3 hookers & a pack of condoms
Any chrome engine cover from the catalog
Custom grips
A whole lotta doobage or enough booze for a great evening with the GF as you teach her the error of her ways

Seriously, just bustin' on ya! Dickey may be a lot of things, but he has & DOES admire integrity, a trait seemingly lost nowadays!

An HD Dealership is certainly not a "big corporation".

I wonder if she supports the OWS guys.

Under Wisconsin law. You are still required to pay the correct charge.
However, many employers will charge an employees for shortages if they can not collect them.
Example few years ago I bought 50 dollar Mc donales card for someone with my credit card. It did not go through correctly and was not billed to my account. The Mc Donnels manager was going to charge the employee for the error. I however stopped in the same place for coffee and the same Lady was there I contacted the manage and we fixed the the problem.
It is not uncommon for stores?gas stations and bars to charge employees for cash shortages
Now this does not mean the store will get the money if it gets to the point of forcing collection the court will not waste the time on it. try collecting on bad checks most DA's will not even talk with you about it.
You did the right thing, but the dealer should have cut you a break for your time to go back down there. It might have been and issue in there computer system as they scan the bar code for the price-might not been the ladys fault at all.
Yeah, I agree. It was a system fvck up! Can't blame the cashier.

You did the right thing and you *know* it. If it's an discussion, then she has problems and isn't the kind of person I'd want around me other than long enough to get me some and then tell her to git. You also need to quit making excuses for her and what she does. She's trying to cheat a business and then tells it with a smile like she's busting your *****? That must be some good poontang, 'cause so far she's got zero respect from *anyone* on this forum already!

i do not want to see what a $22 hooker looks like. three "3"s do not equal a 9, if you know what i mean.
