You did right!

I actually just got back from picking up my lunch from our little deli in my building and I got two bottles of MtnDew and my sandwich and handed over my card and was just walking away when I realized the total was not the normal amount and asked the gal to check...sure enough she only charged for one of the drinks....It blew several people away standing in the line as I pulled out my wallet and had her charge me for the second drink and she was grateful as she is responsible for her stock & such.

 

As others have pointed out, she probably would have had to cough up the difference. On more than one occasion when my daughter was waiting tables, she had to pay for customers who would dine and dash. Pretty crappy on management's part but, most companies now days only care about the bottom line. They could give a crap about their employees.

To echo the theme, you absolutely did the right thing.

 

You did the right thing, whether the salesperson would have to pay or not is unimportant.
Your GF needs to take a good look at herself.

 

Far be it from me to comment on yer GF. I will comment on you however....Ya done good!!

 

It may only be me but I'd have a problem with a girlfriend that lived by those ethical standards? You did the right thing.

 

A big plus one on this one....

That kind of actions and thoughts shows and tells me a lot about a persons character.

I'd be double thinking the whole GF picture.
