Default Installed my V&H straightshots today - Pics added

Well, the weather was decent enough for me to install my new (to me, but actually used and bought through Ebay) Vance and Hines Straight Shots staggered with Velocity hot-tips. It took about an hour to do, and HOLY SMOKES!!!! What an improvement in sound and looks!!!!! My Harley sounds like a HARLEY now. Without the stock crossover, the idle is more "potato-potato-ey", the tone of the exhaust is just AWESOME, and they look SOOOOO nice! I really like the straight pipe look and not having the fat mufflers anymore. I can't wait for spring, when I'll have my new cams and headwork done, to put her on the dyno!

As for performance, the engine seems smoother at speed, there's some extra power there, and I've lost the backfiring and popping on decel! She also seems to run better cold!

I'll be putting her away for the winter on Saturday, so I don't know if I'll get the chance to take any pictures beforehand, but if I do, I'll post 'em up here.

Cheers!

EDIT: I got a couple of shots of her this morning before leaving for work.

Here's the before pic with stock head pipes and SE2 slip-ons:

and the after with the StraightShots:

Congrats on the new pipes. Now locking her up for the winter just has to be absolute torture. Looking forward to some pics.

Don't you hate getting something added knowing that you have to wait 4 months to get the full effect ??

Looks great and congrats.

Thanks!

Man, I absolutely LOVE the sound!!! Everyone who's heard the new pipes has commented positively on th sound. Even a friend of mine at work who is usually saying things like "Harleys are annoying" commented that he liked the exhaust tone (not the volume so much though, hehehehe...). A substantial improvement in the sound department for sure. Now that the crossover is gone, the idle is a little less smooth, and I have a nice "potato-potato" idle lope! My harley now sounds like a HARLEY!

Thanks for the help. Oh, I had no problem whatsoever moving the baffles back and installing the hot-tips, they fit snugly, but slipped right in no problem.

Cheers!

Yeah, I do! I really thought I was going to have to wait for spring to even install them, so I feel lucky that I even got a couple of days riding with them installed. The more I hear them, the more I LIKE them!

I can't wait for next spring, after the cams and headwork are done too!! It'll be like having anew bike, but with all my customizations on her already, heheheh...

Cheers!
