Who makes the next lowest low profile DOT approved helmet? I know, I know not another 1/2 helmet thread. BUT I had decided on the Outlaw ultra low profile &, since they changed the padding, I don't know which ultra low pro to get. Is Daytona the best option now? Thanks.

Would you consider a 3/4 or are you stuck on 1/2 helmets? IMHO, the 1/2 helmets that are DOT look worse than the 3/4. Now I know this is a pretty cheap helmet but I really like the thing. Its as low a profile helmet as I have seen. I bought one just so I had a spare DOT and I liked the thing so much I bought a matching one for my wife. It sits super low on the melon, weighs almost nothing and has a genuine DOT certification sticker. Is it a great helmet, no. But it does sit low and has minimal mushroom effect. Just wanted to mention another option.

+1 on the 'no DOT helmet is low profile'. The best I've found IMO, is Vega naked and own two of them. Wouldn't catch me in a 3/4 or full face helmet as I feel too constricted, just don't like the feeling and I think they make one look like one of those bobble-head things in the back of old peoples' cars.

Take a look at the HCI, about as low profile as your going to get and be DOT. With all the new materials, you would think someone could make a true DOT approved low profile helmet.
