Motorcycle Theft Ring Uncovered in Hudson
A major motorcycle theft ring takes a big hit after a discovery inside a Hudson, Wisconsin storage unit earlier this month. After getting a tip out of St. Paul, Hudson Police executed a search warrant at a storage unit on October 8th, uncovering parts from 14 stolen motorcycles. The total value of these motorcycles was between $200,000 and $300,000, according to Hudson Police Chief Martin Jensen.
While most of the motorcycle owners have been identified, Hudson Police are looking for a few more to identify the motorcycle parts. All of these motorcycles are believed to have been stolen from the Twin Cities. If you believe you may be a victim, call Hudson Police at (715) 386-4771.
The Washington County Sheriff's Office, St. Paul Police and North St. Paul Police have all worked with Hudson authorities on this investigation.

That is because it is so easy to get a "clean" title in Minnesota for a totalled bike. My Deuce was totalled in Arkansas, and got a clean title in Minnesota (where I bought it used). Didn't find out it was salvage till I took it to Washington state where the brand showed up (and I lost about 1/2 value of the bike). Minnesota looks the other way, I wrote the DMV, asked law enforcement about it, got a "meh" not a big deal... Bet there a lot of laundered titles on bikes in MN.
