Lay down Lic Plate work on sportster?
Greetings,
Only had my sportster 4 weeks now. Anyone know if the HD lay down plate will work on a Sportster? (may look nicer with one)
local craigslist is selling one.

Thanks

I live in Florida I am pretty confident Florida has made lay down plates illegal 2-3 years ago.
If I were you I would check before buying.
Edit, I just looked at the kit in craigslist and it may be legal. As long as the plate is always visible it may pass. The laydown kits I was thinking about allows the plate to swing and impedes the police from seeing the plate.
Crotch rockets used them to their full advantage when all the officer hoped to get was a glimpse of a plate as the bike sped away.

Here is my bike with lay down license plates. From the side you really can't see them well, which I like. They are great but keep in mind that I also moved the turn signals back with the license plates. The turn signals are integrated with the license plates. They are from HD.
