Default New HD Recall for Rear Brake Switch

It looks like there is a new recall on baggers and other scoots built from 2008 till 2011. Here is the recall info: http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/...e41debe6c9bfb0

Thanks for the heads up. It confirms what my brother emailed me earlier today.

This now makes two recalls on the 2010 RG I recently bought. The first was Campaign #0141 RCL: 09-10 Tank Mount.

That may explain why I've had to replace my rear break light switch twice now on my bike that's not even 2 years old yet!

I've replaced the switch on my 99 twice. I noticed last time it was completely different than the old ones.

What I feel is interesting about the recall is the cause of the failure appears to be excessive heat. I always thought that when a problem existed you found the "root cause" of the problem and fixed it. Why doesn't Harley address the excessive heat issue?????

There are already a half dozen or more threads on this subject so I'm locking this one.
