Interesting also that Polaris now owns Indian and has produced its first model. Didn't know that.

Sure.

the company posting a 95.9% increase in income from continuing operations......Nearly doubling its bottom line, Harley walked away with $183.6 million in profit the last three months, up from $88.8 million during the same time period last year.
That's a LOT of cheddar, eh? What raises my eyebrow is that now that they have 183.6 MILLION in profits, are they going to hire anyone back that they cut? HD's bottom line has nearly DOUBLED. That's great. But could they being back a handful of employees now?

Maybe they are, I don't know. I guess I"m tired of hearing companies whine about how they need to fire all these people to survive, but then firing them does a lot more than make them survivable. Could they have kept a few more people and made, say... 80% increase instead of 95.9% increase?

The other thing that caught my attention is this statement:
The changes underway in manufacturing, product development and retail capability will increasingly enable Harley-Davidson to be customer-led like never before.
Customer led? what the F does that mean? I'm a customer, and I want you to hire back 100 mechanics and assembly people. And make more of the bike in the US.

Anyway, business is business, and I am NOT a businessman. I love to see american businesses make money, but I don't like it when they don't fire people to be profitable, they fire people to be MORE profitable, for their stockholders. Screw the working man...

idk, maybe I'm off base here. If I am, let me know.
