Life syle change

buying a Harley was a BIG change for the wife and I. The kids have been out on their own for 5 years and before Harley and HOG we didn't do very much. But now we have made new freinds and done some great riding!

Because I'm riding a motorcycle again, I am having more fun, smiling more, am more centered, and I know every winding country road from here south to Charlottesville, west to the Shenandoah River and north to Pennsylvania.
The fact that the motorcycle is a Harley is a bonus. I got the support of a well-developed community, an association of like-minded people and yes, this forum.

Wife time!
It has given the wife and I a new excuse to hang out together. Tuesday night has become our bike nite (I ride home from work, pick her up and we head out for dinner). Sunday rides to where ever! It's like dating all over again!

Not much of a change here. Still go to work, etc.....Still get/return waves from other riders whether on the HD or the M50. Still wear armored jacket, boots and gloves when riding but wear the 1/2 helmet on the HD (full face on M50).

Exactly the same for us. We rode HD's 30 years ago then changed priorities to raise a family and so forth. Got back on a year and a half ago and now it is our #1 ( almost only ) activity. Not in HOG though, just ride with friends.

I rode my metric bike mostly to commute. Didn't take it out for pleasure cruises much (maybe 600 miles of the 12k that I put on it). I certainly didn't like highway riding or if the wind was over 15mph on regular roads becuase I got blown all over the road.
Got the SG and found how fun riding should be. I have done a lot of pleasure riding and highways hold no terrors for me. Wind is not a big deal anymore. I've gotten blown around on it once (highway, large trucks passing, and wind was gusting to 40) but the bike never felt like it was going to get away from me, so it wasn't scary.
Don't get me wrong - I still commute quite a bit on the bike, but now I ride a whole lot for pleasure; heck, had fun just riding into town to get gas yesterday.
Oh, and now I ride beside hubby, not on the pillion!
