Colder weather and full face helmet question

You have a few options.
- Ride with shield slightly open
- Add a breath guard to helmet (covers nose, deflecting breath away from shield)
- Use anti-fog spray
- Add snowmobile shield to helmet

I have the same half helmet you do and use a scorpion ex400 for the winter. It has the anti fog built in and it must work because I never had an issue. If you get a scorpion, buy a full size bigger then you would usually wear since they run small. I had to go one size bigger and was able to order the interior for 30 bucks to go from a XL to XXL.

In regard to the claustrophobia thing..I feel the same way but I wanted full protection. I found that a modular helmet eliminated that closed-in feeling because I can flip it up anytime. It also makes it easier to put on or take off.
Mine never fogs but so far the coldest I've used it in has been maybe mid-50s.

The anti-fog coating on my Scorpion EXO 1000 may have worn off. I am experiencing a little fogging now but it goes right away when I crack the shield.
I prefer to ride with the shield cracked most of the time anyway.

I use a Shoei RF-1000 in the cold weather. The first few times it fogged up I was able to fix it by just cracking the face shield open a bit. Then I went to a local ski shop and bought some of their anti fog spray. Works like a champ.
Mine came with a small snap in piece that covers my nose. That does help quite a bit with the fogging, but I usually leave it out just because it feels funny to have my nose and mouth 'separated' from my face. lol
I also was concerned about feeling claustrophobic in a FF helmet. I've found that I actually prefer it now (except for those really hot days). The only real problem that I've encountered is when I have to back the bike into the garage. With the FF on, I can't see behind and over my shoulder enough to squeak the bike in between the car and the wall. I have to take the helmet off first.
