Not HD but local Indie shop. I searched for the best price I could find on line, then went to the local shop and asked if he could match the price so I could keep my money local. He beat the price by $18.00 on a $400.00 purchase. I got the deal, he got a sale and the money stayed local.
Maybe it would work at the HD shop too? Gonna have to try that.

I have never been opposed to riding another brand! If they keep screwing their customers,it will be bye,bye HD!

I do support my local dealers. main issue is here one guy owns 3 out of 5, one of them is a mega dealership, no discounts at all. I didn't buy the bike there but have spent over $6,000.

Those 3 that are the closest are the ones way over MSRP. My gauge of general over pricing is micro fiber towels. I like to use them and throw them away. Most places they are $5.95, the local mega shops charge $7.95 because they can. T-shirts the same way $25.00 or $35.00? If it gets more restrictive they and everything else will go up even more.

I'm in the industrial maintenance business. Companies protect there distributers in industry by not allowing you to buy from anyone outside your zone 9same products). Dealers found violating this can loose the rights as a distributor. I think this is the direction HD will go. You will not be allowed to shop around.

Just my .02

Most of my local dealers maintain an online Ebay store. I buy both in the brick and mortar dealerships as well as the occasional deal online. When I chose to buy my bike, I went with the most honest dealer I could find, and double check prices before I buy. Last I checked, they are still listing parts on Ebay, but I will need to double check.

Maybe I'm naive, but how does an unauthorized dealer get actual HD parts and accessories? Something smells fishy.
