Places to rent a HD in Vegas?
Heading ut to Vegas and maybe thinking of renting a SG for a day while there. Is LV Harley the best place for a rental?
Don't want to cruise (or sit in traffic more like it) on the strip so any suggestions for a day ride while out there?

Port Dawg,
When I was there a few months ago I took a ride out to the Hoover Damn, I was in my car with the wife but it seemed like a nice 30-40 minute ride. I saw a lot of bikes that had taken the ride out there when we arrived. Might want to check into that.
Also another harley dealership not to far from the strip is Red Rock harley. I think it is a sister store to LV harley. I honestly don't know if either of them rents because it was so hot, when I was there that I decided not to ride.
Good luck,
Tom

My wife and I are planning a trip (she has to work so we can only get about 10 days off). We'll fly to Vegas, rent a bike, and tour all the state and National parks in southern Utah, then fly home. This is the best place (price wise) I have found in the Vegas area.

Yup Thats the place I used when I was out there a few years ago.
(Eagle Rider).

They have good service people and the bikes are in good condition.
A couple of words of caution and now experience from an east coaster.
#1) Just bringing a sweatshirt for a long ride home at night is a stupid idea! Even with a windshield it was freezing!
That desert goes from +100* in the day to 40* when the sun goes down! (Bring your leathers!)
#2) Never, ever, brush away the ants before sitting down!
Didn't know about fire ants till the ER doctor said thats why my hand was in alot of pain and double the size of the other one!

I rented from Las Vegas Harley Davidson while I was there and they recommended the Valley of fire for a good ride. It was actually an amazing ride and I would highly recommend it

Locally, one of the best rides is the 17 mile scenic Red Rock Canyon loop and the often overlooked Spring Mountain Ranch State Park once owned by Billionaire Howard Hughes that includes tours of his house. Next door to that, the Bonnie Springs/Old Nevada Ranch which is a popular biker hangout. Plan an entire day to do these 3 stops.
The original portion of route 66 between Kingman, AZ to the old gold mining town of Oatman, Az is simply spectacular with dozens of switchbacks and amazing views.
