The only " red" Sturgis , from factory at least, was
the "special Canadian". In 82, they produced
47 "special Cdn " which were Candy Burgandy,
With candy red panel, two gold pinstripes, and
silk screen maple leafs with Harley Davidson logo.
In 82, they made 1493 black/brown models with
gold rims. Also in 82, factory made 1077 black with orange
accents. Not saying it's not possible , but ... Have
Seen the brown seats on an FXS model.

it had the primary belt that was notorious for breaking, & instead of converting to chain, after 2 belt breakages, he was selling, in those days was trying to get $6,500 where normal bikes were bringing closer to $8,000
at the time alot of guys including me thought it was ugly, but no one wanted to re-paint it to a better color, nor to swap seats. the black & orange is a great looking combo.
