Still its a Syn oil so it will take the heat of Our motors.

I wouldn't use a car oil in the primary, most have friction enhancers that I wouldn't want in with the clutch plates.
been using regular oil in the primary for decades , never had a problem yet. I know several people that run ATF , pretty sure that prolly has some neat stuff in it lol....you could **** in the primary and be fine , its more about keeping the chain lubed than the clutch. I read somewhere that the clutch is un affected by motor oil "friction modifiers " but would never be able to find it again

I run the best oil known for EVO's. Castrol GTX 20-50 dino. In my EVO it runs quieter, and does not leak like Mobil 1 Vtwin did. And it gives me that warm fuzzy feeling. LOL. Oh! And EVO's run cold anyway.

I've been using regular Wally world brand Dino oil for all my Harleys, changing oils at 5K miles for engine, 10K miles for primary and 20K miles for transmission. I did splurge the past year and went with Redline in the transmission to see if there's a difference, nope none, except the wallet is a bit lighter.

No problems until I bought a brand new FLTRUSE 2 weeks ago, that had the synthetic factory oil. At 950 miles the engine tossed a valve. So much for that synthetic oil hoax.

Can anyone tell me which breed of dinosaur Harley or Mobil uses for their motor oils. LOL

Bought a like new used bike from the local Harley Dealer , was told all the fluids were changed and the bike was serviced however I was also told it had the HD SYN 3 in all three holes . I always change my own oils , not sure I will go back that same route when I change the oils next time but it is convienent to have one type and brand oil for all three .

I was going to try the 15W50 next oil change but according to Walmarts site they don't stock it.
They do list the Mobil 1 V Twin 20W50 as being in stock at a store near me for $8.97 a quart. Mobil 1 15W50 is available at the Advance Auto Parts near me for $8.79.
Might as well keep using the V Twin 20W50, not much difference in price.

Check to see if Advance carries the 15w-50 in the 5 quart jug. They and several other chain stores often have it, though sometimes it'll be in the back and you have to ask for it. Also, most of 'em will order it for you; I usually buy a couple jugs at a time. The jug is usually available for about $5/quart, give or take.
