Was going to see if somebody else would mention the "congressional" correction.

Default One woman who must be on the short list:

I don't see how we can talk about the coolest of HD riders without mentioning Dot Robinson.

I'm not so sure about that list other than the bloke who passed 1M miles. I suppose any number of people could get on that list you've put together, but just to share my own take I firmly believe that Harley fame is not based on what you do besides riding a Harley, but rather those who do nothing else but ride their Harley.

I do realize it's tough to make a list of that bunch because they could care less about fame and they ride their Harley because it represents their undying allegiance to a certain set of values. Few people stand firm by their values these days, so when you find someone who does so despite what anyone might think, then it constitutes fame of the most prestigious type of all.

Harley is far more than a bike. It's the opportunity to mount and ride the damn constitution of the United States in whatever fashion you want to hurl it down the highway. The less fame that comes from it, the more genuine it is.

There's lot of people I would have put before Elvis. Steve McQueen rode every/any kind of bike.....If you limit the question to people who rode Harleys exclusively. this list would be a lot shorter. But Along with McQueen I would include Bud Ekins, Gary Davis, Both Stuntmen and Racers........Gary Nixon, Flat Track Champion...... Samantha Morgan, Cookie Crum, Speedy McNish, Acrobatic Wall of Death Riders........and Michael Parks, as the character Jim Bronson in "Then Came Bronson" ....I could keep going .....Maybe not household names but check them out, they are, or were cool.

Evil

Garth Brooks was being interviewed with evil and the host asked brooks how much money he had to which he replied "i have so much money i could never spend it in a lifetime" evil told brooks " mr. brooks, give me your money and i'll show you how to spend it in 24 hours" that was the coolest thing i ever heard and i knew from that day on i wanted to ride a harley. his attitude personified the harley lifestyle for me.

I think Willie G. Davidson deserves a mention... Or how about the first woman to ride cross country? Clara Wagner?
