Worst I've seen have been Florida all most all year round and Minnesota and the mosquito's summer is so short they are brutal like Alaska . And I'll add anywhere that has Locust or cicadas swarming those flying dinosaurs are no joke .

During August it seems that just about every-other rider is in Colorado but I don't think they are necessarily worried about bugs though. Seriously, come straight south and ride the spine of the Rockies. You'll find a lot of arid country to ride through and bugs don't do real well where there's not a lot of moisture. I've heard some crazy things about the Love Bugs down south and not sure I want to experience those nasty things.

I've lived in NY, CA, VA, MD, GA and TX. Of those states, GA takes the win for the most bugs with ease.

i grew up in florida and live in la now. the bugs are pretty much the same in both places.

i think anything at this latitude is pretty much gonna be the same, fl, al, etc.....

make a compromise, stay at a nice hotel at night where she (and you) can take a nice hot shower and get all the bug guts off.... isn't that part of the 'experience'?

Every time we go to Florida for the MCA Mustang Nationals in March, we always end up with the Alabama state bird plastered to our bumper cover... so I am gonna have to say 'Bama.

The mosquito is the official Louisiana state bird, that's all I gotta say about that. I wish I had a picture of the front of my fairing during the summer. I try not to ride right around dusk, it's ridiculous.
