I'm a life member of HOG so when I buy a new bike I get a $45 gift certificate from HOG national that can be used at any dealership or HOG event. I do think it might have a limit as to how long it's good for. But I seldom held one more than a few weeks before I used them.

Thats aheck of a welcome. Cut the guy some slack. All he did wrong was to misplace the card. Like we all havent misplaced something now and then.

In CA, there is no expiration on gift cards. The law in your state may vary. As f'd up as things are here, sometimes they get it right.

Most gift cards I've ever had were good for 1 year then they start charging monthly inactivity fees.

I recently got a $25 visa gift card from a vendor, and didn't know but from day 1 they charged a 4.00/mo fee on the card. I went to use it after like 3 months, and it wouldn't go through, so I put it back in my wallet and figured it was a computer error. Tried again a couple months later and same thing, by the time I finally got around to calling the card distributor and getting the balance, there was $1 left on it.

 

Just curious as to who the dealer is.....Southside or the one up north?

 

Federal gift card law went into effect about a year ago. You're out of luck on that old card.

ok, heres the update on the card, probably last one ill post, the dealer(hd of indy, 96th st) after i had called corporate hd tried to check the card, any hd card older than 3 years was probably a fifth third bank card, right away they charge a $2.50 a month charge, so after a period of 5 years theres nothing left on the card, the way ive been told any card from a dealer(independant owner) uses who ever they want, if any one gets a card use it right away or buy from corporate online, the corporate cards expire after 5 years but corporate might replace them if they can verify the card, thanks to everyone for their info and common sense jabs SHEEP BOY, later
