Default new harley owner needs exhaust advice

i have an 2011 iron 883 completely stock and im looking to upgrade the exhaust. i want to get the v&h short shots and the dealer is telling me that im gonna need a fueler and an upgraded air intake. is this true? they quoted me at like 1200 for the whole thing. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks, Doug

If you want just the exhaust you will be fine. If you want more power get an air filter and a tuner too but it is not necessary with just pipes.

Just adding pipes is the cheapest way to make noise.

To get her to run better will cost more $$$ than just pipes.

Go to the Sportster section and do a search and you will find more than you need to know. Like was said the pipes alone will make the bike sound better, but you need to at least do a high flow AC, pipes and tuner to get some power out of it.
