Since I doubt I'll live to be 112, I'm not in midlife and I'm sure not having a crisis. But I love my bike, ride the hell out of it, and plan to keep doing it.

Good for you! Keep the rubber side down!

Buying a Harley is a midlife crisis? Nah....

Now if you neglected to show up for work this morning because you were three states away with that stripper you met Saturday night on the back of your bike you might qualify...

That is basically what it was for me. I have a very stressful job and 2 kids. It was either buy a bike, or go to therapy. I know I made the right choice.

Mid Life Crisis..My ***
I spent the last 3 years renovating the house from finishing the basement, replacing the kitchen, putting hardwood into virtually every room in the house, replacing all the windows, painting the interior, removing a old wood stove and brick hearth and replacing it with a pellet stove and finally hand painting the outside of the house..Ohh had to also build a shed to house my reward.
My payment for all the labor I put into the house was my Harley and its worth every penny I spent on her. So when someone hands me MLC crap, I just look around and wonder where their MLC toy is and laugh.

Here's a short flick of the pellet stove I installed, I used this to show some Virtual World people we know.

When people see my bike they sometimes ask if I am in MLC....I tell them "Yes, I am in my 5th MLC but don't worry...you don't have to run out and buy a motorcycle anytime soon. I am having enough fun for both of us."

I have found that people love to label you because it's a defense of their own shortcomings.
If they're jealous of your fun, your guts to do something unexpected, your ability to afford to do it, it's easier to label you as some kind of deviant than to admit that they're wishing they were doing it too.
