Default Economics

If your going strictly on economics you wouldn't have bought a Harley to begin with so that dog don't hunt. There are lots cheaper bikes out there.

Gerbing makes the best heated gear on the market and the wiring has a lifetime warranty. You'll know if you made the right decision once you get it.

My bike loves the cold air and it screams on winter's cold dense air. I just stay warm and hold on...

I commute year round. My Gerbing gloves cost me $150, fifteen years ago.

$10 bucks a year is cheap rent for them so to speak. Your liner will last at least that long.

The only justification you need is you want it and can afford it.
If that is what you chose to do with your cash then The only justification is I wanted it.

I'm trying to justify NOT buying the heated gear this year...

...can't seem to do it either.

I don't have any but my wife does and she likes using the heated vest. When it's cold I just use my ski gloves and an extra layer under the jacket.

Gloves + Full Jacket Liner is the way to go. Hands are probably the first thing to get cold and while the jacket liner will help, you still get to a point where the regular gloves just don't cut it. The vests are OK, but if you ever buy heated gloves the wiring will be a PITA. With the full liner the gloves will plug right in at the sleeves.

I bought a CBR 954 when I was 17, in the middle of January in Indiana. I had on two sweatshirts, long johns, a leather jacket and a leather bandanna around my face and I dont think I have ever been that cold. Rode it every day until I sold it though

Heated gear suuuuure woulda made it easier....

Gerbing liner (not vest) and gloves... period. Lifetime warranty... period.
I've left the garage @ 26* and ridden 53 miles at 5:00 am...not a problem.
What do you have to justify???
