that "ching" noise when yer riding down the road

If the bike kept running, you probably didn't need it anyways. Had something hit me in the leg once and thought I saw something shiny go by. Got home and noticed one of those chrome throttle cable covers the previous owner had installed was gone. Took the other one off and tossed it.

If something fell off and the bike still runs, all you are doing is increasing the power to weight ratio! Yay!!!!

Last time that happened to me it was the loose change that fell out of the hole in the pocket of my jeans when I came to a stop and stood up to adjust the boys.

Same thing happened to me a couple nights ago. Even felt something hit my left boot but never did see anything missing. I'm just gonna assume it wasn't important.
