If i put a fake plate on my bike ..

It's a copy of the real plate....the numbers are what matters not the plate.
I'd run it as long as the DMV says it's valid and redo next year. I wouldn't go volunteer telling them it's lost. No officer is going to give 1 **** about thew actual plate material being different. It looks right and the numbers are yours, good to go. IMO.

Fake Tag
You could alway tell the cop its a temp until the real one arrives, and even show the registration as proof its on the way.
Also, if the cops do write you a ticket for the "infraction", you have to explain to the judge, your not guilty until he says you are. The cop only schedules the appointment.
If its a very good replica, I doubt if the cops would notice.
Hard to believe they can sell you something and not have any recourse
for non-receipt.
Good Luck.....

I guess you haven't seen a modern trick azz cop car car lately. the camera recognizes the plate and checks it through the state computer without even interupting their donut. NY anyway.
Look at your signature. Have you ever considered "I don't worry about it today cause I dealt with it yesterday"

Several Police cars here in Daytona and Volusia County have cameras that constantly scan license plates and will display 'bad' plates....whereby the officer can initiate a stop.
The camera scans all plates in front of the patrol car automatically. Not all patrol cars have them.....just the one behind me.

Did you ask for the DMV supervisor? If not, you should. Why accept "No" from someone without the authority to do so. Or better yet, go to the main DMV with a letter outlining what happened and ask to speak to the highest manager there. Doing things in person often work better than over the telephone. Good luck!

If you're going to buy a fake plate and spend money anyway, can't you just get a replacement plate? I have been in auto accidents and have had plates destroyed and gotten a replacement with the same vanity plate design (not a new number). I have also gotten replacement plates with the same letters when they just got old and worn.
Try to get a new DMV person and tell them the plate was lost (fell off maybe), stolen or destroyed and you can probably get a replacement. They probably just don't have a box they can check on their form that is for "lost in the mail." Stolen or destroyed they can probably deal with.
