The South is Beautiful
I have read a lot of threads here on the forum about you folks in the east and south saying how much beautiful riding we have out west but I have to tell you something the south is beautiful.
My wife has Cancer and we are taking a trip from Az to Pa to visit our daughter and grand kids. We decided to drive and boy I wish it was on the bike instead of the truck but had to take the cage. We started out from Phoenix and it seems the farther east we go the more beautiful it gets.
We have been on I 40 all the way east and by the time we hit OK we were in love with the drive. Today we came from Nashville TN to Greensboro Nc and coming down through the Smokey Mountains was incredible, we are going to work our way to Virginia Beach and up into DC, I want to see the Viet Nam Wall then up into Pa to see the kids. After we visit them I think we will work our way back to Az along the Mid West.
The point of this thread is to let you Southern and Eastern Riders know that you have some awesome country in your own back yard.

I work in Greensboro, NC. You're right....this is a beautiful area of the country. And, the folks here are friendly. If you want an incredible experience, take a couple of weeks and hang out in the mountains of NC, VA, TN and GA. There's some incredible scenery there and some of the best roads anywhere for bikes.

You know SantaJim, the more I travel the more beautiful this country is. It is so varied that there's great riding anywhere you go. It might be mountains and forests, beaches and ocean, desert and plains, but you can find something to hold your interest anywhere you are. Have a great trip and post some pictures, even if you're on four instead of two.

I grew up in West Texas and to this day I still miss it very much my folks still live there and I go back to visit once or twice a year. I moved here to Greenville SC in 1988 and feel very blessed to live in such of a beautiful place. I can travel 20 miles north and be in the mountains or head south within a reasonable time and be at the beach. This is a great country we live in no matter which direction you go.
