I think the discussion merits are between obnoxious and ear-splitting or "liveable with discression". No one is saying to run stock nor wants to, and mine is anything BUT quiet, save for the neighborhoods and stoplights.
I've not heard a straight pipe I considered decent or for that matter, any stocker either.
I don't think riding acceptable, middle ground qualifies us as "lemmings" or any other wimpy nickname you want to throw out on the internet.

 

I don't think running any pipe, straight or otherwise that isn't illegal in the area it's being ran in needs your or anyone else's stamp of approval as "decent."

FYI, your definition of "obnoxious", "ear-splitting", "acceptable" and "middle ground" is just that. Yours. Mine, and anyone else's definition is just as valid as yours. Different, but valid.

If I ride past the LEO and he doesn't stop me, it's none of your or anyone else's business. You're not in this world to make me happy, and your personal happiness isn't on my priority list.
