Just not sure if it can be done on the denim paint and still match the fenders keepin the same look.
I would second guess what they told you, that stuff is really easy to match. Besides, the flattener is actually in the basecoat with the Denim colors (PPG makes the paint, from their Deltron line), so matching should be all the much easier.

Can't help you with the paint, but your idea is really cool

Dude I'd love to see ya give it a try. Where in TN are you? If I can find another tank for cheap I'd be willing to let you take a shot at it.

I am in Knoxville. If you can find one, let me know. I have a peanut tank (2007+ Sportster) that I bought just for the intent to airbrush on and resell for exchange, but nothing for the cruisers/touring bikes, unfortunately. Just let me know. I will post some of my work on here in a few. Thanks!

Cool. Do you do body work too? Most of the cheap tanks I see have a dent on one side.

I do. Depends on the level of work though, wither or not it is worth working out or just getting something dent free. Especially with tanks, that require further steps to ensure that the tank is lined properly. Got a pic?
