Smile 1972 xlch 1000

Hi my name is mike. i bought this 1972 xlch and rebuilt it for one reason. my father always wanted a harley and he passed away with out the satisfaction, so this is for you dad. well heres my problem rebuilt motor. put about 2000 miles on this summer. now all of a sudden i got problems, well new generator new regulator new electronic ignition new coil. kick start only no starter but i have no spark. ran good re tuned it then shut it down to let it cool and then no spark so replaced the coil and still not a dang thing.. any help with this i would be greatfull... FOR YOU DAD LOVE YOU AND R.I.P.

that still has points unless you changed it, have you checked for proper gap? also power going to coil?

yeah i converted it to electronic ignition

yeah i replaced the points with electronic ignition

and yes sorry there is power to coil and power down to electronic ignition and back up to the other side of the coil but no change in voltage when it is kicked over

which ignition are you using? is the pickup for the reluctor breaking the field as it goes around?

you should repost this over in the ironhead section of this forum (your bike section) you will have this figured out in no time.Amazing people over there.----go down towards the bottom of this page til you see the forums jump and then scroll down til you find the ironhead section. Everything you will ever need to know about your bike will be found there.

Repost in the ironhead section and when you do mention which electronic ignition you put in that sporty.
