Default Bluetooth for H-D Modular Helmet

Does anyone know of a Blutooth unit that will fit in the H-D Modular helmets other than the H-D branded unit. (http://www.amazon.com/Road-TechTM-Bl.../dp/B003YG30FO)

$200 seems a high for that.

Sena SMH10: http://www.amazon.com/Sena-SMH10-01B...6469427&sr=1-1
Is there something special about the HD helmet that another brand won't fit?

I don't know if there is anything special. It's just a little regtangular knock out on the side of the helmet. I have no clue if this knockout has been standardized in the industry.

I took a look at them on the HD website and I would guess that only the one designed for that slot will fit. The helmet looks like a rebadged HJC helmet (maybe the Sy-Max III). HJC says the recess fits Chatterbox not that they are any cheaper than the Road-Tech. Maybe someone else will know for sure and chime in. All the units run around $200 anyway, even the Sena is $165.

If the the Harley Helmet you are referring to is the SY-MAX III with the hole for the Chatterbox then this is what you want.

The installation would be neat, however if you want a higher performing unit I would go with the Sena SMH10, it has better performance as far as usability and will install on the outside of the helmet.

Let us know if you have more questions.

I'm using a HJC modular(don't know the model), there is no rectangular knockout on it, but I mounted a Scala rider G4 on it and it works just fine.
