Quiet Pipes

That would leave more space on the road for those of us that care about riding and not image.

I'm with you! Loud means nothing if it doesn't contribute to performance.
This reminds me of an article I read about Dyson vacuums. The ones supplied to the US are designed to sound louder because Americans equate noise with performance.

It's true. The gals that are loud in bed perform better and are much more enjoyable than the ones that just lay there....

I have one of every family that HD sells plus a Buell Ulysses. All have stock pipes. I think the stock Ultra and Road Glide are way too loud with stock pipes. When one rides many thousands of miles touring each year, loud pipes suck. They are just for showing off going to a bar.
Do what you want with yours but STFU about other owners pipes poser.

There seems to be a number of people that feel loud pipes makes them more of a man, and those that own a H-D and think that makes them a man. Loud pipes, stock pipes...helmet, no helmet, gloves, chaps, black HD tees. Who the hell cares except for people that feel the need to show their internet manly man and look for someone to agree with them. Sooner or later they will find each other and share a koolaid on the porch and complain about all these things.
