Anybody got any ideas on where we can get some decent leather jackets that we don't have to take a mortgage out on the house and the bike to pay for?? Any and all help appreciated.

Stay away from anything that says Harley-Davidson unless you want to pay double its value. Look online imo.

I wear a $100 leather jacket I bought at an outlet store many years ago. It isn't stiff and heavy like the expensive jackets. The tags say made in USA and made in New York. It keeps the wind out, is warm enough for me (with a sweat shirt underneath I'm fine at temps in the mid 30s). It survived one accident with a few scuffs.
The brand is Excelled and here is the outlet store's web site:

May not be the best, but it's good enough for me.

Try on at the shop find the make model size you want, then start searching online. Simple as that.

Fox Creek Leather. Quality #1, Customer service= off the chart. Buy QUALITY....ONCE. It's more economical in the long run. Have had some of their stuff for 7 or 8 years. I was in between sizes on gloves, so was gonna order both, they only charged me for one pair and I sent other size back. They really are awesome to deal with. You could always search "Fox Creek Leather" on eBay also. I would 10X rather have their used stuff than brand new HD!!

I bought mine from jcwhitney for $80. Nice and sturdy, classic styling and fully functional. Why pay more?
