Default Some minivans are nice to bikers.

This is a VERY small thing. It's not like the people that spontaneously lifted the burning car off the biker. Nevertheless, it impressed me so I thought I would share it.

I was out riding last evening, enjoying a beautiful Virginia sunset. As the sun got low I needed to stop and change from my smoked glasses to my clear ones. I picked a desolate stretch of road with no houses or other buildings around. As I was on the side of the road with my turn signal flashing, a minivan pulled up next to me and the man (who had his young teenage daughter with him) said, "Is everything alright?" I explained what I was doing, thanked him for stopping and he went on his way.

I've nearly been run off the road by minivans on many occasions and it made me feel good that someone in a cage would stop to see if I needed help.

It's the person behind the wheel, or handlebars, that counts. Not the metal object they're in/on.

Yep, bet he's a rider. I stop whenever I can if I see a bike on the side of the road.

They are smaller than the old full size vans.

I agree it's the person not the vehicle.

i stopped to help a guy on a bike once. he looked like an axe murderer and my girl friend was like NO! i told her to stfu and wait in the truck. turns out he was wearing a pagan patch and i asked if he needed help. he was pissed off because his bike was broke dick. we loaded it on my pick up and i dropped him off at his house. he invited us in for a beer and we left after a while. good good guy. bikers are the most misunderstood group of people on earth.

Curiosity is killing me......

How did 2 men get a 600-700# machine in the back of your pickup?
And out again?

I was out for a cruise one day and I decided to ride past the local nuclear plant. After searching for a bit, I found a road that got closer, which turned out to be the one they take deliveries on. It was a public road so I decided to stop for a bit, take a picture of the cooling towers (because they're pretty impressive up close) and have a smoke. Well, nearly half of the people that left the plant were on bikes, and just about everyone stopped and asked if I was lost. I thought it was pretty nice of them.
