It sounds like the new guy recognized the fact that he could not read you. You said it yourself that he does not know how to take you. So he probably figured that was his chance to "Break the ice" with you trying to make a joke. He definetly sounds like one who does not have a politically correct attitude but he made an attempt. I do not think his intention was to **** you off but rather get some type of response from you that will strike a conversation. Unfortunately, he's probaby a R.U.B. that does not know any better. A few months from now, you will look back and realize he was just being himself. We all meet that type from time to time... He has a real bad sencse of humor but think he's the funniest thing around.

Now you need to ask him to ride his bike to work! Don't fall out if he says he does not have one.

 

On what grounds? He rides a BMW you ride a HOG.... or because he thought you had a pair of tights on and he asked the question to confirm or maybe the comment about it better be a BMW because they are the only ones good in the cold. (Hahahaha)
