If you want to stay close to the action, I would also recommend camping at one of the many campgrounds that are offered. We spent part of the time on the Chip and all we had to do was walk back to camp. We also stayed part of the time in Deadwood at the Super 8 and they were very friendly to us. They have a shuttle that will take you to Deadwood for $1 and they have a lot going on in the evenings there and you can just take the shuttle back to your hotel when you're through. As for a shuttle from Deadwood to Sturgis I don't know anything about that. This was our first time there and we noticed that if a person wants to party it won't be hard to find one no matter where you stay. Good luck
