I did read it... posted the beginning with the link...

Like I said ... interesting read....

Does that come with a real stern look and a "I don't mean maybe" lecture, gramps?

It's all a self flagellation exercise even having a debate about this , in here is all rules and what " I would do " key pounding . Out there in the real world it's road rules and those can change by the second when your on a bike and that children is the reality of it .

Have a nice day , .

Around here passing on a double solid line like that is just plain phuckin stupid, nothing but blind corners and sharp dropoffs that can land you a couple hundred feet down a cliff. Its bad enough that cars cut the corners that you get in the habit of driving the outside part of the lane around corners just incase.
IMO someone who will risk so much in order to just get ahead needs their head examined.

As long as Im not going to head-on with on-coming traffic I do it. Usually its on a open road in the middle of nowhere so WTF I go for it.

Wow, a lot of wanna-be cops here! Tickets, more tickets, dangerous, illegal, blah, blah, blah.
If you're in front of me and I want to be in front of you - I'll pass you when I feel safe in doing so. No regrets, not putting you or your dog in danger, just passing when I feel it's safe. What lines?

I do when I have a completely clear view of the amount of space I'd need to pass, and if I do I always hammer down. I try not to do it out of road rage like when someone cuts me off, but if I'm behind a semi doing 20 in a 45 going up a hill, I won't think twice about going past him. Same thing if I don't feel safe around a certain driver. I also run red lights if I can't trigger them. I guess I'm just a regulah law breakah.

I voted no and its wrong. That not entirely correct my real answer is:
"No and its stupid." But your bike, your life; do what you will.

Had an ******* pass me and buddy on bike in an SUV this past weekend in so. IN. across a double yellow. Buddy was leading and came real close to getting cut off. Could have been ugly.

Risk your own life, not others.

Here in California we can pass anytime as long as we don't actually cross over the double yellow line . . . called lane splitting.

Oh, and I tear off those mattress tags too . . . but I refuse to eat those little beads that come packed with electronics equipment!
