My pops wears a vest....
No mc...
He has the eagle and USA on the back....
Various Patches are his military patches, and runs he's been on...
They mean something to him....
Don't have to mean anything to anybody else....
Just like our bikes and styles...

Pins and patches tell your story without you saying a word. They also start conversations and start friendships and mutual respect among strangers. I was there too, or in that unit also. It can also tell you who not to talk to also. Tell your story or not as said before to each their own. I like it myself.

20+ years HOG member; I guess Capt Jim might have a feeling of belonging!

Hey guys, just checked back on this thread and was suprised to see what a stir my vest was causing. Just mementos of past rallys, vacations, and memberships from over the years. And yeah, they have meaning to me. That's fine for those of you who don't care to collect pins or patches or don't get it - its something I enjoy and that's all that matters.

These mementos have started a lot of conversations and I have met and spoke to many people who I otherwise would not have the opportunity to without them. Its funny, I have more than once have Europeans try and buy pins from me right off my vest at rallys!

Like tattoos and souvenirs and taking pictures on vacation, most of them are just to commemorate some event or some place you've been. Seems pretty simple to me. I don't have them, but mainly I'm just not interested in going to the shoe shop to get stuff sewed on all the time.

Ahhhh OK. All I could think of was Radio Control but that didn't make sense.
