I think people like that tell the stories to make themselves feel smarter, safer etc because they don't ride. I believe most of us are keenly aware of the risks, and when you get a non-rider tell you the stories, they're just trying to make themselves feel better.

I heard it as "Everybody dies, not everybody lives"

That's the way I look at it.

Well you can just brush it off.......... or trade the bike in on a volvo. Personally i usually cant stand socializing with non bikers [they bore and or annoy me] we are a different breed.

One of my best friends married this guy who had been stationed in Japan. I know I've seen pics of him riding at some point, but he left a similar message for me on Face Book on time, talking about friends of his who had been hurt. I don't think they mean to be a buzz kill, but it still comes off that way.

Best answer! The dude doesn't even ride and claims to have lost six friends to bike accidents? He's bad news! Keep your distance.

I have friends and family that don't like me riding, especially after losing a nephew not long ago while riding. I take it with a grain of salt, they mean well, but I will not stop riding. They never rode, so they just don't get it and could never.

I was at a party last night with a friend who has stage 4 pancreatic cancer...he is fighting for his life. He is also at least 5 years younger than me. Bottom line...we are all going to go sooner or later.

Just a note: More people will die from being overweight than from being killed riding motorcycles. So, please....eat responsibly.
