I hope I go while takin' a big CRAP! The look on the coroner's face will be priceless. And I'll be doing something I love!

No more danger in riding bikes as there is in any sport, be it racing, snowmobiling hunting etc. Six seems like a lot of friends to lose, not knowing the circumstances I wont question the number. Almost got T boned by a women last week. You gotta be on your toes, fully alert and ready for anything. Oh I used to teach aerobatics, talk about danger..........

I've been almost killed more times than I like to think about. Yet I couldn't wait to get back on a bike after being without one for so long.

Don't you think the risk involved is part of the reason we do it? Kind of like a little rush of doing something dangerous and getting away with it? Just some food for thought.

I try to minimize the risk as much as possible, I'm not giving up riding.

It's a very risky thing being alive because they've already started digging your grave. How you live is a very different thing indeed.

I've never understood the need for someone to tell a bike rider about motorcycle related deaths. Over the years, I've had a few people come up to me at gas stations, for example, and say "My (cousin/friend/uncle/whatever) was killed on a Harley. I've NEVER had anyone come up to me while I'm filling up my car or truck and say "You know, my (fill in the blank) was killed in a Chevy". I would bet more people have been killed in cars.

Yes, there is an inherent danger in riding a street bike as others have said. We accept that and most of us do what we can to keep riding. There are a things that may be out of our control...where I live, deer can jump out with no warning...among other things. Again, we know this going in and do not have a death wish (heard that one a time or two as well). Bottom line for me, I love motorcycling, have been enjoying it for 45 years. I don't want to die doing it, but who does? I just love big-*** American motorcycles.

I know more people who have died in car accidents than in bike mishaps. I do as much as I can to ride safely and defensively. When your time is up, that's it, your time is up.

If I were you, I wouldn't be his friend. It's too dangerous!

Buzz kill indeed.

I get that every once in a while from people. I usually give them the "At least they died doing what they love" response. It's total crap, but so is bringing you down when you're showing pics of your new bike.
