The fix for the neutral light coming on in 4th is simple. Had the same thing when I put a 6 speed soft tail gear set into my 5 speed touring frame trans case. I had to change from the 2 wire neutral pick up that was stock on my FLHT to a single wire soft tail pick up and leave one wire hanging, and move the location of the neutral pick up from its normal location at the top right side of the trans case to the hole provided in the new wider side cover. A chrome block off plate was included with the 6 speed for this purpose. Both problems solved. The frustrating thing about this was there was nothing in the installation instructions about this, so it was trial and error.

Where is his shop in mooresville? I live near mooresville and have never heard of him, I can pm you a number for some guys that do good work. They used to be 2 of Tilley"s top tech's but work on their own now.

I don't know how long he's been in his current location. My first clue should have been when I could find NO reviews on his shop on the internet - good, bad, or otherwise. I was simply going on the recommendation of a co-worker. However, the co-worker's experience with his shop was a one-time deal and that was for a front fork change.

I am a firm believer in knowing your mechanic before you need him. The guys I run with talk about different things all the time. We definitely talk about different shops and what work they have done.

Just because he puts "no warranty" does not mean he can take your money and not provide the service. Hate to say it, but I'd have my lawyer call him if he wouldn't talk to me.

What he said! Don't take this laying down man 'cause if you do, this guy will keep on and another customer will get the same treatment. There are laws to protect consumers, warranty or no warranty.

Just wondering why did you go to him instead of the dealer.

Me I prefer to stay with the dealer.

I don't know, but I was thinking step 1 is "mine some iron ore."
