Play in handlebars.
I had a set of 13's from Cyclesmith on my StreetGlide. I noticed the knurling was shallow and flat on the points. We installed new poly bushings and torqued to spec. They moved with every hard bump or hard stop. Then I bought a set of Chubbys Wild Ones 14" bagger apes. The knurling was protected from shipping damage and to protect the extremely sharp points. We again replaced the bushings with new poly ones and torqued to spec. Those bars never moved. Solid as a rock. Today, I ordered a set of Chubbys 16's for my new RoadGlide CVO. I will also be using Chubbys bushings. I hope this set up works as well. It only makes sense that the knurling needs to be sharp to prevent slippage. IMHO

I've got 16" Wild 1's and once they are torqued properly with poly bushings, the only flex I have is in the bushings. The top of the bars move at most 1/4" and that's only when I'm really pulling on them. You could go to metal bushings, but with a TC A engine like mine, I'm guessing my hands would quickly go numb.
Oh and as an FYI, I have the stock riser with a single piece top clamp.
