The worst thing about having something stolen not by a roving gang is that someone knows you or what you have.. They might not be a best friend or maybe not a friend at all but they have been by and they have seen what you have. People that return from trips and find something missing, someone knew that they were going to be gone for a while. Thieves just suck period there is no punishment harsh enough under the law.

There is I've posted in here before and got smacked for it , LEO takes a dim view of duct tape and a pr of vise grips being involved when asking someone where your bike is .

Back in the early 70's, I bought my first bike from a 1% club member. He stole it back a week later while I was sitting in their freaking clubhouse! A few details to be worked out and I got it back in baskets a week after that. I wound up prospecting for a year and became a full member. Meanwhile, the club VP owned a body shop so the bike got a complete engine rebuild, molded frame, custom paint, and a lot of shiny stuff for the cost of the parts. Good ole days they were...
