Let me put this simple they are a waste of money , look taco as hell and do ZERO for the bike for performance . If your all about the looks jump on it but thats all their worth .

have had one on my bike for the last 45,000 miles and no problems at all
hae ridden in the rain and no problems
as for hp gain I don't know and don't care but the seat of my pants says at higher rpm it does give me alittle more.
bugs do get in the filter but no worse than any other air cleaner and it can be cleaned
I really like mine and if anybody has one they hate that will fit a 69 sporty my son want one...

 

I had one on my '99 FXDX, but I also had a Stage 3 kit and 2-1 performance pipe. I eventually cut out the butterflies, sealed the holes and powder coated the inside for basically a ram air scoop. No complaints...

 

Nice trinket, but brings nothing to the table.

 

they work fine as far as a free flowing AC goes, they won't give any performance over your typical K&N filter but they won't give you less performance either. personally i would go with an S&S.

 

I use an oil bath filter off a '52 DeSoto. Works great and it's painted gold and everything...

 

I posted a letter that I got from Kuryakyn quite a while ago on the Hypercharger. If you do a search, you should find it.
They stated that the Hypercharger wasn't worth it unless you had major engine upgrades to give your bike a lot more HP.
When I posted it, there were several guys that chimed in to say they had bought the Hypercharger and when they got their bikes dynoed, they ended up removing the Hypercharger for better performance.

 

The last bike I owned had one on it when I bought it. I left it on there because it looked cool. I don't think it added to the performance.
