Need some help with questions lol!
Hi all, new here, name is Eddie. I live in Colorado. I have owned a 1995 Sportster in the past. Had to sell her a couple years back, but now looking to pick up another bike in April or May. Anyway, this is probably gonna be a dumb question, but, what is the difference between the Softail models and the Dyna models? I have been looking at the following bikes that have really caught my eye.
1999 Night train
2003 Dyna Lowrider
2003 Dyna Wide Glide
2004 Dyna Superglide
2000 Softail Deuce
I just dont know the difference between the Dyna's and the Softail's lol. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Is one better than the other? And have you all heard anything bad about the bikes I mentioned above? Thanks again for all the help, sorry about being a pain in the butt, lol.

Cheaper tickets than riding the Day train. Also note that the 1999 model in specific is rarer than most. It is older than a 2000 Night Train but is not as old as a 1998.
Mainly Mexican built, this model offers hydraulics and plays La Cucaracha when you hit the horn.
Wider than the Narrow Glide, but not as big as the Oprah Glide.
Lubricated and ribbed for her pleasure.
What comes out after eating too much fiber.
Hope this helps!

I'll give this a shot but I warn you that I'll likely not get this right.
A Softail is just like what it's called. A Softail has a rear suspension system designed to help absorb bumps. The frame itself itself consists of two pieces, the second piece being a swingarm. Shocks, at least on my FLSTC, are mounted underneath the motorcycle and not typically visible unless you go looking for them.

A Dyna, on the other hand, is more consistent with a Hardtail motorcycle. The frame is one solid piece with exterior shocks mounted on the sides of the motorcycle. If you watch Sons of Anarchy many of the bikes they ride are variations of the Dyna.

Many Harley Davidson motorcycles are variations of each other. For example the Softail Deluxe is, in many aspects, very similar to the Heritage Softail Classic. The difference is that the Heritage comes with bags, a windshield, and lots of chrome. I think the Softail Deuce came with a solid rear wheel and different risers.

Nah, I was just messing around, I hope you did not take it personal. I think a lot of the guys here probably have been faced with similar questions in the past, and instead of reposting the same information they posted a link to said threads. Your first and right decision is buying a Harley in the first place, choosing a model is up to you. I suggest sitting on each one and seeing how they all feel in comparison. Basically, the Dyna and Softails use the same motors, but this will change with the years (80, 88, 96, etc.). Softails tend to be more dressed out and suited for longer distance riding than Dynas. The suspension tends to be plush and more comfortable than the Dyna.
