Will cast wheels ride better than laced

RE: Will cast wheels ride better than laced
If you do a search here there has been complaints about laced wheels.Spokes coming loose/breakage,PITA to keep clean. They also have to be maintained.
I think it takes a skilled person to maintain laced wheels.I dought a lot of techs dont have the experience to do this compared to the few shops that specialize in laced wheels,IMO.
Give me cast anyday.

no difference, both use the same tire except laced wheels require a tube. cast/alloy wheels are tubeless and are easier to repair at the side of the road in case of a flat and easier to keep clean.

I've had laced on my Lowrider and my current Electra Glide. A friend of mine has the same Glide, only with the black cast wheels, and we've swapped (bikes, not wives!), no difference in the ride quality that either one of us could determine. Do they take a little more maintenence? Maybe, I guess they are a little more effort to clean, and the spokes should be checked periodically, but after spending more than an hour cleaning my bike, the extra 5 minutes to spray some windex and wipe down the wheels isn't really noticeable! Maybe another 5 minutes to check the spokes, make sure they are all tight.
I don't know about the stock Harley laced wheels, but it seems several of the manufacturers make laced wheels that can be tubeless.

Crypto, think about what you said. if you have an adjustment nipple thru the rim, how can it be tubeless? A wire wheel by nature has an adjustment nipple thru the rim.

I think laced wheels look better but run cast wheels. Tubeless tires are safer because they are less likely to blow out and can be plugged on the roadside.
Less maintenance and easier cleaning are a bonus.

From my understanding they have a strip that covers and seals off that part of the wheel. How does that affect the adjustment, you'd have to ask someone who has them.

(EDIT - Looks like I was a little slow there, Cryptoboy already answered)

About 10 years ago BMW came out with spoke wheels for their GS model that was tubless, seems the spokes attched to the rim just outside where the lip of the wheel sealed to the rim. It was a good looking wheel to. As for after market I'm not sure, but I have read and heard that there are a couple of companys that can seal the spoke area and make it so you can run tubless..BUT I think if I really wanted to run tubless I would find a set of mags someplace, in fact my Brother is going to do that with his 2002 Altra-classic
