Now Iam not complaining because I have an FLHTK at home in Boston, and when go to sell in the future it is nice to know that I can get a good buck for it, but what keeps their resale so high???
It's the timeless beauties of these rides! IMO that keeps the $$$$ high. I'd say mine worth about $6k or more, maybe?. Based on my FLHTC age, mileage, repairs. You might do better. But in your area I'd buy a Ricer so it wouldn't be stolen.

Hate to see you bring down your FLHTK to see it ripped off!

Don't know about Mexico, but in the states Harley resale is the lowest I have ever seen it. You should have no problem finding a deal if you keep your eyes open, and do a weekend roadtrip.

most used ones end up overseas. true fact.
If that didn't happen like it does, I don't believe harleys would hold as much value as they do.

had another thought to inject into this....don't know why I never thought of it.

You know how guys in here say "you never see Harley junk yards"

A couple reasons for this. The price of a NEW one is so ridiculous, what with bullshit fees & taxes, that's it's better to buy ALMOST new;let someone else take the depreciation hit. Also, you gotta put about 2Grand into a new Harley just to get it to run RIGHT, and that's usually already done by the time it is up for sale. So that adds to the price. Not to mention all the chrome & crap. Most foreign bikes are pretty much stock when people sell them.
