Congrats! The Low Rider I got three weeks and 2,000 miles ago is my first Harley and first bike in 20 odd years (last one was an '82 CBX bought new in '85). I "get it" as well!

The Champaign/Urbana area.

I've actually been wanting to visit Alton, I have never been to Fast Eddies and its ridiculous that I haven't made it out there yet.

Good post, and glad you and the bike survived the ignorant driver incident. I sometimes react the same way and later regret it.

Been looking into some loud air horns for my bikes, mostly for people with phones stuck to their head. Usually wore full face, but half helmets make it easy for them to read your lips.

Happy trails

There is also a great dealer about 10 minutes from Fast Eddie's, Ted's HD.

Not everybody could have written a post that long and kept myself and most of these guys interested. Good job. I'm betting there is a similar story in a lot of us that your story resonated with. Anyway, glad you get it, and have fun.

Thanks, that is great information to keep in my back pocket in case I ever have a problem while traveling down in that region.

My local dealer seems pretty good so far, three generations of the same family working there under the same roof. I haven't had to deal with their service dept yet, but since I bought the bike there, I expect they will treat me fairly.

I'd have done the same thing with that eejit in the wagon. It's just so fecking careless!

And I think your language was entirely appropriate! This is what swearing was invented for.
