RE: coustom paint??????????
It's amazing how many painters you find online. I looked around for ideas and ended up finding a local painter to do the work that I wanted. It was nice, as he had no problem of me coming in at watching the different stages. I bet I spent around 5 hours total watching him do his work.
I thought of shipping out, but was afraid that I may have a problem....if you look, there are so many different shades of orange, red and etc, that you head will spin

Same place that I am at right now, so damn many custom painters out there, how do you know, if you really haven't seen the product in person. Webshots can be deceiving, and it very hard to tell, unless the photos were taken just right. I have also seen some shabby work on a few sites as well.
I'm getting my paint done this winter, but haven't chosen the painter yet. I'm still trying to find someone close to me, like in NH, or northern Mass. Anyone have any good NH painters?
I know, I have asked this before, but maybe someone new will reply.
I think I would feel better with a local painter, and save the cost of 2 way shipping, which, in my case will be huge, since I want the fairing, extended bags and fender, side covers, front fender, inner fairing, tank and all.
It also seems that the more paint jobs I look at, the harder it is to finalize the decision. I must have looked at a thousand paint jobs on the web, and my decision just keeps getting tougher.
Flames?, skulls?, tribal?, old school?, artwork, etc, etc. so many decision, and so little grey matter left..
Kinda of like going to a restaurant with a 50 page menu, what do I want, what to do??
I like diners better, 10 choices, and they are all good. LOL
I've seen painters on Ebay, that say they will do a tank, and 2 fenders, all custom, with several clear coats for like $800.
I just don't know if I can trust some guy doing my work accross the country.
I guess I really want to see the work in person before I decide.
How much are you willing to spend? I think I should be able to get a pretty nice job, for less than $3K
Peace

Toyrider,
I was wondering if you got any estimates from any of these websites before you made up your mind?
And how much they quoted.
Thanks
