yea, that's true. I tried to find a motel room at midnight, (when I had the sudden and scary realization that EVERY F'ING GAS STATION WAS CLOSED AFTER 11 OR SO) and every place was full... with natural gas workers.

I was afraid I would not make it to the next open gas station on my 3.3 peanut tank.

I live in NE Ohio 2 miles from the Pa border and the roads in NW Pa are usually much better than our roads in Ohio.

I live just above PA border and when I ride there, I am ejected from my seat on avg once every few miles. Just enough to make me have to slide my butt back off the tank.

Sig pic is off rt 11 in NE PA

Don't feel bad, though, Within the next year or so, they'll start drilling for gas up here, and the roads here will be just as bad as yours.
In NY it depends what county you are riding in. Road conditions change as soon as you cross a county line.

True that, and the wierd thing is, there's no rhyme or reason, some roads get better and some get worse.

Broke a frame hitting a pothole on the PA. Turnpike years ago , station guy at the next exit said it had got a least 6 cars in 2 days . State completely ignored any attempts to contact them over it .

My personal best was a blown-out tire on the passenger side of my subaru while coming home from gambling after midnight on I-70.

Turned out that a pot hole had developed at the joint between an overpass and the highway. It had snowed a ton earlier in the week so couldn't even pull off the highway.

I pull over as best as I can and get out to replace the tire... Hold the phone, not one but two tires blown out.

Turned out that both RIMS on that side had split down the middle. Tire guy said he had never seen anything like it.

Pretty sure that on a bike that would literally be a killer.

Most of our state roads here in IND are almost that bad. They not as bad as the one Ur talking about but most of them have bumps that will make the wife come up out of her seat about every 15-30 second as U ride on them.
Seems better if U stay near the right hand side of the road, or just avoid the worse ones as we do.
