Default Do you REALLY want your spouse along?

I have read lots of threads about many of you taking your wives along 2-up. Others of you express happiness and pride when your spouse gets an M class license or a new bike. The question I have is do you REALLY want your spouse/significant other along on a motorcycle ride?

Don't misunderstand me, I have been married for 34 years and love my wife. But I bought the motorcycle for ME. I have ordered her some gear so she can ride 2-up with me from time to time, but I have told her that is going to be the exception, not the rule. I expect that to be an issue if she enjoys riding. I half want her to be scared so I don't have to explain why I don't want to take her along on every ride.

Am I alone in this?

I actually loved my ex and wanted her along for the rides.
It wasn't like she was glued to the passenger seat, so there were solo rides.

My wife is my best friend. I can't imagine being married to a woman I didn't want riding with me.

Riding with friends,

My rides are always better when my wife is with me. She likes to be on the bike and I enjoy having her there.

I love my e-glide and my wife, and I wanted my wife to experience riding with me. BUT... my personal preferences would have run to an evo softail and no passenger.

My wife is also my best friend and we do pretty much everything together but my bike is for my alone time! She doesn't care to ride and I don't try to talk her into it!

Hell No. Was out with my riding buddys yesterday and that topic came up.

The wives would just ruin the trip and restrict where you go and what you can do.

2 of the guys said that whenever there wives go for a ride, they ride fast just so the wives hate riding with them .

After helping me back to good health after a serious bike wreck, NO, she will not, i will not take her with me, i have no passenger pegs on either bike, and solo seats on both. :]
