I was under the impression that a problem isn't just condensation but circulation. Everytime you start your engine after it sits long enough for the oil to settle the parts are running dry on start up so it adds more wear. I believe the difference in driving time between a 20+ minute commute and a less than 10 minute commute doesn't make much difference since you warm the engine but the starting it adds wear and tear.

I had a 1 mile ride to work the first year I had my bike, no problems. I'm sure you will be fine. I would ride a lot during the weekends though.

Around here your helmet sticker would be something most of the soccer Moms would take you up on.

But thanks for your helpful answer.

Most of my trips are 5.5 miles to work or 3.5 miles to the gym. I don't worry about it.

I tend to agree. I love riding so much that I not only take the long way, but cruise as long as I can.

I tend to agree. I'm usually always taking the long way, but that's just so that I can ride as long as I can.
