Short commute hurting my scoot?

It won't hurt anything but I wouldn't ride short distances if the temperature is below 35 degrees. Then the engine doesn't heat up enough to evaporate any moisture that may have formed in the crank case.

One benefit of an air cooled engine is that it comes up to operating temp pretty damn fast. Yer not gonna hurt the bike....especially if ya let it idle for a couple of minutes.....and taking a slightly longer route is definitely better for engine and your mental health.

Hell no it won't hurt it , I had a 5 minute commute for 10 yrs some mornings didn't get the choke off till I pulled into the parking lot . But then old shovels are more rugged than these overly sensitive things the factory is throwing out today , better check with the dealer see what mama has to say .

I've got a 10-15 minute commute as well and ride almost everyday and never worried about it. There are several traffic lights and I catch at least 3 of them every time, so I'm sure between the mileage and idling at the lights, she gets warmed up pretty good.

I don't think there is a problem either, but it would not hurt to get her out about once a week and wind her up to about 70 for maybe 20 miles. That should burn off any condensation in the oil and the motor.

Let it warm up and you'll be up to operating temp before you get out of your driveway. I love to take the loooong way home and wind down after a 12 hour shift.
